An Everyday Turtleneck

PSA: I just want to start by saying you can get this entire outfit (boot version) for under $100! And the best part, is how easily you can restyle each piece!

Growing up I would have cried if mom wanted me to wear a turtleneck. Now, I think they're pretty dang handy-- guess that's true maturity right? Think of them as a very warm cami lol! I wear my turtlenecks in various ways: they're easily worn alone, great for layering outfits with a cute coat, V-neck, or cardi, or sometimes just for added warmth. Stripes are my go-to in everything apparently, because that's just about the only pattern in my closet. That's ok though, it's a classic touch for any top and a great pattern to throw into any outfit.

This turtleneck is especially lovely, and I fell in love with it as soon as this line came out (it's now only $25). Madewell always has the best colors and this one was no exception in "weathered maple". Mixing brown and black is also one of those things growing up I didn’t like together, but my sister taught me differently and I have worn them together ever since! I am a neutral gal so what’s wrong with putting the two most neutral colors together? Absolutely NOTHING! They complement each other quite well.

For a get up of 3 pieces this really makes a statement. Leaving a boxy, striped turtleneck shirt untucked with a black raw hem denim skirt and chunky, black boots did just the trick. That's a classy, unruly, edgy, motorcycle/rocker feel match made in heaven (and a mouth full)! I threw my hair into a half up bun, which also added to this classic, edgy styling —a look I generally aim to achieve.

In the last pictures you see these awesome denim sneakers. They are some of my favorites! Although, I love the look and feel of the black boots, the denim slip-ons bring their own thing to the table. They make this more of a light hearted and relaxed day-to-day ‘fit. **Also, under $100 right now!
