This is both an outfit inspiration and styling tip post. I think this outfit is a perfect way to mix up a casual day, styling work boots with a sporty jacket. I wanted a slouchy layered look which was pulled together with these straight-leg cropped Levi’s that I am loving.

I hate wearing the same outfit twice but I LOVE reusing pieces, which is my favorite thing about putting outfits together… always asking myself how I can make this a totally different feel than before.

Since I got this jacket and sweater I have worn them about 3-4 times a week just changing the way I piece them. You can wear the sweater layered, alone, tucked or un-tucked and it makes all the difference. So far I have worn it with:

I, of course, love this sweater but this can really go with any sweater with a similar style. I will say the color adds a nice little touch to my wardrobe that wasn’t there before. Another thing unique to this one in particular is the deep V that is very feminine but stops before showing any cleavage-- which is really refreshing for a petite gal like me.

The sporty J. Galt by Brandy Melville jacket I picked up while in Nashville along with two other essential, basic pieces. It is so nice to be introduced to new brands and find fresh staples for my closet that are a little different from the ordinary. I have already worn each piece several times! If you haven’t heard of her line and how it works: it's all one size and boxy type fit, but awesome. Can’t say how much I love the items I got and how much I have already worked them into my wardrobe in various ways. LOVE.

Levi's are everywhere right now, but have always been a classic and quality jean. I had struggled to find these in my size anywhere that weren't back-ordered or just sold out, but I ended up finding some at Urban and actually sized up 2 sizes. Not sure if that was normal for anyone else-- I normally wear a 25 and got a 27 in these (although I think I could use a 26). I am still happy with the way these fit regardless, and the slack most likely comes from my lack of bootie but I think they look cute a bit slouchy. All up to personal preference. I couldn't fail to mention them though because they are DEFINITELY a thing right now and a really good one-- absolutely loving them. They also look great with heeled booties and sneakers (as always I have to be able to wear my tennies lol).

My boots were inspired by my older sister/twin 17 years apart (seriously though, the similarities are uncanny) from the 90s and also because I saw a pair of the Chelsea style on someone in the Spring and decided I needed a work boot. But Jess (my sister) helped me decide on the more original style. And just an FYI she got hers way back when she saw them on Alicia Silverstone in  Aerosmith's "Crazy" music video from MTV (watch here).

Anyway, I will be wearing them with dresses, denim cut offs, and more skirts in the spring. But right now I have been using them even with leggings or skinnies (with boot socks) + big sweaters just to throw on when it’s really cold or wet outside to run to the store. These are easy to clean up and just get better with age. They can bring a whole new look to your ‘fit (as shown above) and are unbelievably comfortable!
